Ruby Maude Nielsen

March 13, 1921 — January 25, 2008

Ruby Maude Hocking Nielsen, 86, of Bothell, WA passed away January 25, 2008 at Evergreen Medical Center in Kirkland, Washington.

She was born March 13, 1921 in Rigby, Idaho to Richard Henry Hocking and Hattie Adelia Beauregard.  She was raised in Pocatello and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1939.

On September 2, 1939 she married Leonard Viig Nielsen in Pocatello.  She had three sons, Alvin, Leonard, and Michael.  They later moved to Shelley where they farmed.

She was a musician and played the piano and the bass fiddle for the stake orchestra. After her husband passed away, she worked for Alva Harris Law Office and Snake River Irrigation.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

She is survived by two sons, Alvin Anton (Aileen) Nielsen of Basalt and Mike Nielsen of Woodinville, WA, one sister, Bonnie Dudley, 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Leonard Richard Nielsen, 10 brothers & sisters, Ivan, Hallie, Margaret, Joseph, Basil, Elliot, Richard, Martell, Ada, & Marlin, one granddaughter, Nikki, and one great grandson, Chris.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday February 2, 2008 at the Firth Stake Center (823 North 675 East) in Basalt.  The family will receive friends Saturday morning 9:30 till 10:40 A.M. at the Church.  Arrangements are under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley.  Interment will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
