Ruth Ekins Elliott

September 15, 1919 — July 15, 2006

Ruth Ekins Elliott, age 86, of Heber City, Utah passed away Saturday July 15, 2006 at the home of her son Robert Elliott in Shelley. She was born Sept 15, 1919 at Provo, UT. She was the first of two children born to A. Ray Ekins and Diantha Ruth Patten Ekins.

Ruth was educated at Page Elementary School and Lincoln High School, Orem, UT. She attended Brigham Young University. Ruth married her high school sweetheart, Robert L. Elliott Nov. 16, 1938 in the Manti temple. They were the parents of four children. She loved her family very much. They moved to Center Creek, Wasatch County in 1953. Ruth is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She held many positions, including Primary President, YWMIA, Relief Society, Cub Scouting, Teaching, etc. She enjoyed the out-doors, gardening, birds, neighbors, hard physical labor, camping and hiking the high country, natures small treasures, vintage 30’s and 40’s movies, and music of all kinds. Ruth was a licensed cosmetologist, also a nursing clerk at Wasatch County Hospital.  

She is survived by four children Robert (Johnnie Sue) Elliott, L Gaylan (Eilidh) Elliott, Diane (Hylton) Haueter and A. Ray (Cathy) Elliott, 17 grand children, 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert L Elliott Jr. in 1994; her parents; brother Stanford (Tim) Ekins  

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 21, 2006 – 11:00 A.M. at the Heber LDS 6th ward, 500 North 325 East, Heber City.  Friends may call on Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the LDS church and on Friday from 9:45-10:45 prior to the services. Interment will be in the Heber City Cemetery.
