Samantha Anne Martin

Samantha Anne Martin, 48, of Shelley, ID passed away late Wednesday, December 11, 2013, in her home of natural causes.

She was born October 5, 1965 in Houston, TX, to Samuel and Ester Smith. She was raised in Houston and went to University of Houston.

On October 13, 1990, she married Dan Martin, later divorced (2008). They had one son, then shortly after moved to Austin, TX, where they had a daughter.

She worked at The Heart Hospital of Texas, and was also a volunteer firefighter in Austin. In 2001 they moved to Idaho Falls, ID.

She enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, helping others, and spending time with her children.

She is survived by her children, Zachary Martin, 22, and McKenna Martin, 20, both of Idaho Falls, her parents, Samuel Smith, Ester (Mahalic) Smith, and Marion Smith, all of Texas, her siblings, Andrea (Smith) Sipe, of Florida, Kristen Smith, of Shelley, and Greg Smith of Texas.

She was preceded in death by all of her grandparents.

A memorial service will be held Monday, December 23, 2013 at Hope Lutheran Church (2071 12th Street, Idaho Falls, ID) at 7 p.m. The family will visit with friends beginning at 6 p.m.
