Shirley Mae Everett

May 30, 1923 — September 7, 2009

Shirley Mae Baxter Everett, 86, of Shelley passed away September 7, 2009 in Idaho Falls at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

She was born on May 30, 1923, in Idaho Falls to Bonnie Goodrich and Otto Baxter.  She grew up and attended school in Woodville and Shelley.  Later, she attended Steven Henager Business College in Salt Lake City.  Upon graduation she worked in Phoenix, Arizona.

On November 26, 1943 she married Harold J. Everett in Idaho Falls.  Together they farmed in the Lost River Valley.  She enjoyed farm life and caring for her family.

In 1958 they moved to Idaho Falls and a year later to Shelley where they resided until 1984.  During that time, Shirley worked as a head bookkeeper for Roger’s Brothers Company and the American Potato Company.

Following retirement in 1984 she and Harold lived on the Olympic Peninsula near Brennon, Washington.  After Harold’s passing in 2002, she returned to Shelley to live.

She is survived by her five children, Launi Everett, Michael Everett, David (Lori) Everett, Chris Everett, Jerry Everett, 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold, brother, Willard Baxter, sister, Lucile Rindfleish.

Shirley was a wonderful mother.  She dedicated her life to her family.  The light of her life was her many grandchildren, who more than anything else she loved spending time with.  She will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
