Thomas A. Jack

Thomas A. Jack, 89, of Shelley and formerly of Chubbuck passed away October 15, 2011 Safe Haven Homes of Shelley.

He was born October 10, 1922 in Salt Lake City, Utah to George and Ova Bell Jack.  His family moved to Roberts where he attended school until the age of 14, when his mother passed away and he had to start working.  He worked as a recycler all his life.  Tommy traveled many miles a day to various farmers for their metal to recycle.  He also worked as a cherry picker in Oregon and a laborer in Washington at a nuclear power plant.

Thomas married Jennie Priest on July 31, 1973 in Blackfoot.  Tommy and Jennie opened their home for a lot of people in need.  Jennie passed away on July 19, 2007.

He was a liked person who made friends easily.  He had a very good sense of humor.

Thomas is survived by two sons, Dell Ray (Sandra) Priest and Lee Priest, two daughters, Betty Martin (Julian Garcia) and Pauline (Cipriano) Ricaldi, three brothers, Joe Jack, Everett Jack, and Buddy Jack, 21 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a daughter, Sheri Lopez, and three sisters, Ada Jack, Edith Ricks, and Bonita Wagman, and a brother, Richard.

Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday October 19, 2011 at Taylor Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday morning 9:30 till 10:40 A.M. at the Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley. Interment will be in the Taylor Cemetery.
