Thomas H. Frongner

July 2, 1927 — January 12, 2015

Thomas Howard Frongner, 87, passed away Monday, January 12, 2015 at his home. He was born July 2, 1927 to Howard John Frongner and Amy Katherine Murphy Frongner, in Idaho Falls Idaho. Tom was the oldest of six children.

Tom graduated from Shelley High School in 1945. After graduation he was drafted into the Army and was selected for the Air Corps until 1947. In March 1948 he was married to his childhood sweetheart, Jean Edna Call, in the Idaho Falls Temple. They were blessed with three children.

Tom was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served wherever he could.

When he was a young boy he found his love for all sports, especially Football and Boxing. He lettered all four years of High school. He continued to be active in sports throughout his adult life and was on the men’s traveling soft ball team, Phillips Petroleum, a team organized from the INL. Tom was known for his fast pitch.  The team traveled to Bartlesville, OK for many tournaments in which they placed.

Tom was employed with the INL and worked on the desert as an operator for forty plus years. He carried a full load of additional side jobs to help provide for his family. Tom’s life was full of hard work and sacrifice, strong family values, and devotion to his Heavenly Father. He passed these values down to his children and grandchildren through example. He was a very proud father and grandfather. Tom enjoyed the great outdoors and was involved in many hunting and camping trips with his son and later grandsons and family. He had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening and working in the yard.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother, Jack.

Survivors include his wife, Jean; three children, Steve Frongner (Carol), Kristee Killpack (Delwin) and Jina Belnap (Travis); 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.  He is survived by siblings, Richard Frongner, Carol Frongner Braithwaite, Earl Frongner and Ralph Frongner.
