Virgil Don Saville

Virgil “Don” Saville, born July 15, 1927 left this world on his 89

th

birthday. He left to be with his loving wife Donna, who passed away in 2015, and to rejoin his family.

He was southeastern Idaho’s Fuller Brush Dealer from 1962 to 2005. Prior to that he had many different jobs.

He once listed all his jobs and it totaled 101 different vocations. His favorite was as a projectionist in the theaters in Pocatello. In about 1967 he moved the family to Idaho Falls to continue his job with Fuller Brush.

Don and Donna met after he returned from serving with the US Army in Korea following WWII. They were married in November of 1949 and were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1968. They had over 65 wonderful years together. They were the parents of seven children. Don loved to fish and hunt, gather wood and do anything out of doors. His favorite pastime was fly-fishing on the Teton River. He also spent many enjoyable hours camping and fishing at Grassy Lake on the Idaho Wyoming border.

In 1975 he moved to Goshen, Idaho to fulfil his lifelong dream of being a farmer. He grew hay and raised rabbits for several years but eventually gave that up and completely retired at 77 and after spending a year with Donna as a snowbird in Nevada, they moved into an apartment his son Jerry built onto is new home just north of Idaho Falls in the Coltman area. They spent the last 12 years there and were tenderly cared for by Jerry and Kathy and their children for the past several years.

Don and Donna had 7 children, Sheryl (Dennis) Ure, American Falls; Karen Saville, Middleton; Steve (Annette) Saville, Idaho Falls; Candace (Raleigh) Moore, Kuna; Jerry (Kathy) Saville, Idaho Falls; Donna Kay Saville, Deceased; Rochelle Kim Long, Middleton. Twenty Nine grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his daughter Kay and his wife Donna as well as his parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the Goshen Ward Chapel (792 North 1090 East) with Bishop Renn Christensen conducting. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 till 7:30 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Wednesday morning from 10:00 till 10:40 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery with military rites by the David B. Bleak Post #93 assisted by the Idaho Honor Guard.
