Welby Lamar Huffaker

Welby Lamar Huffaker “Huff”, 85, of Shelley passed away May 21, 2022 at his home.

Huff was born November 1, 1936 in Idaho Falls to Ethan and Ivie Merrill Huffaker.

At the age of 17, he signed up for the U.S. Marine Corp. He served from 1953-1961 as a Private First Class.

After returning to Idaho, he started working for Hughes Roofing and later started his own roofing company.

After retiring from roofing, he worked for Idaho Supreme in Firth for 10 years. He then decided fishing was his full-time job.

Through the years he enjoyed rock hounding, making jewelry, and he always loved to fish.

He is survived by his daughters: Kim Walker, Kimberley Moore-Huffaker, Katrina (Roger) Skaar and Rayna Williams, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen, his parents, and one sister, Janette Barrow.

Memorial services with Military Rites will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the North Bingham County Park (587 East 1250 North) in Shelley. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
