Abram Hatch Baldwin

January 27, 1938 — April 18, 2017

Abram Hatch Baldwin, 79, passed away peacefully April 18, 2017 at the Teton Acute and Rehabilitation Care Center in Idaho Falls due to an extended illness.

Abe was born on January 27, 1938 in Pocatello, Idaho to Hugh and Marie Baldwin. His childhood was spent in the Tyhee area and graduated from Pocatello High in 1956. After graduating from high school, he served in the National Guard. On May 7, 1957 he married Donna May Wilson. To this union, their three sons Jeffrey, William, and Joel were born. They were later divorced. On May 18, 1984 he married Dorothy Irene Gibbons. To this union, their daughter Ruth was born. They were later divorced. On May 1, 2003 he married Carolina Ochoa Garcia. They made their home in Shelley, Idaho where they enjoyed gardening together and going for drives throughout Eastern Idaho.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served in several capacities and was a High Priest.

He retired after 26 years working as a Staff Trainer at Deseret Industries. He was well respected and made a positive impact on those that he worked with.

His interests were horses, vegetable and flower gardening, and reading Western novels. He enjoyed his family and family traditions.

Survivors include his wife, Carolina; three sons, Jeffrey (KayLynne) Baldwin, Moreland; William (Linda) Baldwin, Blackfoot; and Joel (Lori) Baldwin, Blackfoot; one daughter, Ruth (Cody) Mecham, Idaho Falls; three sisters, Karen (Byron) Williams, Idaho Falls; Sue (Brett) Manwaring, Idaho Falls; Jane (Rick) Tew, Moreland; a sister-in-law, Sally Baldwin, Moreland; and two brothers, Nick (Susan) Baldwin, Blackfoot; and Tim Baldwin, Mesa, Arizona; 19 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Van William Baldwin.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Mountain View Branch (823 N 675 E; Basalt, Idaho). The family will meet with friends and relatives that morning at the church from 10-11:40 AM. Burial will be in the Moreland Cemetery.
