Alese Burnside

Bell Alese Burnside 86 passed away April 13, 2018 at the Willows Assisted Living in Blackfoot, Idaho.

Alese was born September 22, 1931 in Ashton, Idaho to Leslie Olsen and Julia M. Olsen. Alese was the fourth of seven children. She loved to sing and play the piano as a child. When she was twelve years old, her father passed away of leukemia. Her mother married Claude Fullmer and her sister Willia was born. When Alese was older, she would spend the winters with her grandmother, Mallnee Bell so she could attend high school in Driggs, Idaho.

She married Noel Burnside April 6, 1949. They lived in several different places where Noel, farmed and ranched. They were blessed with eight children.

Alese was a homemaker and cooked for a time at Smithy’s Pancake and Steakhouse in Idaho Falls.

They settled in Goshen, Idaho in December of 1970 on their 40 acres. Noel passed away August 1984.

Alese loved spending winters in Arizona, traveling, riding four wheelers and visiting flea markets. She made many friends while living in Tacna, Arizona. She returned to Idaho in the summers to fish and camp. She was an avid crafter and card player. She always enjoys crocheting doilies and exchanging patterns with friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Leslie and Julia Olsen, husband Noel, sons Tate and Ray, and son-in-law Scott Roadhouse, brothers: Sam, Jack, and J. P., and one sister Mallnee Pehrson.

Alese is survived by children: Lawana Dawn Wood, of Dawson Springs, Kentucky, Sandi Cobbley (Bill) of Blackfoot, ID, Vickie Brown (Hank) of Blackfoot, ID, Theral Burnside (Rose), Williams, Arizona, Orval Burnside (DiAnn) of Shelley, ID, Trina Roadhouse, Indian Springs, Nevada, also two sisters, Junita (Nita) Penfold of Boise, and Willa Campbell of Boise, ID, 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great Grandchildren.

The family would like to express our sincere thanks to The Willows Living and Encompass Home Health & Hospice for the considerate and compassionate care of our mother, Alese.

The family requests that “Instead of flowers, we would hope that you will do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for some poor unfortunate soul in her name”.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10:00 till 10:45 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery.
