Andrew Garcia Miranda Jr., 69, of Pocatello, Idaho, passed away on July 3, 2025, surrounded by family. Born in Pocatello on August 4, 1955, Andrew may have lived his life in Idaho, but his heart always belonged to La Jara, New Mexico — the place he called home.
Andrew was a man defined by grit, love, and a fierce sense of loyalty. A mechanic by trade and by passion, he could lift an engine block with his bare hands and probably fix it using nothing but a socket wrench and sheer will. His garage was his happy place — filled wall to wall with tools, trinkets, and projects he could tinker with for hours. If you needed a tool, he had it. If you needed help, he was there.
He found peace in the great outdoors, spending countless weekends camping and fishing with his beloved wife Rebecca and their faithful dog 4X4 — escaping into nature and soaking up the quiet moments that mattered most.
Andrew was funny, stubborn, strong, and full of love. A jokester with a sharp tongue and a heart of gold, he always reminded people: “Don’t take shit from anyone. Stand up for yourself — and enjoy life while you can.”
When Andrew and Rebecca came together, so did their families — creating one big, loud, chaotic crew full of love, laughter, and more than a little sibling drama. It wasn’t always peaceful, but it was always his. He stood in the middle of it all with loyalty, a big heart, and that classic look that said, “Figure it out.” If he called you family, you were family. Period.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Miranda, and his children:
Sonya & John Bray, Tony & Danielle Miranda, Brandon Miranda, Jinelle & Ray Dickerson, Charmain & Bill Waites, Mike & Misty Miranda, Nick Miranda, Candida Miranda, and Danika Black.
He leaves behind 39 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry his stories, jokes, and legacy forward.
He is also survived by his siblings:
David & Nancy Miranda, Virginia & Joe Guerrero, Clem & Kathey Miranda, John & Sonny Miranda, Ralph Miranda, and Gloria Salpino.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessi Garcia Miranda and Andres “Cody” Miranda, his brother Victor Miranda, his son Alex Ogle, and his daughter Jessica Montoya.
A Celebration of Life for family and friends in Idaho will be held on:

Andrew will be laid to rest at a later date in La Jara, New Mexico, the place he always called home.
Andrew was the kind of man who left an imprint — not just on engines, but on hearts. He will be deeply missed and fiercely remembered.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home.
