Arden E Sellars

Arden E. Sellars of Woodville, Idaho, passed away at age 75 on Thursday March 2, 2017 in Woodville, Idaho after a 17 year struggle with cancer. He was born on September 12, 1941 to Chase Laray Sellars and Mary Rebecca Speas Sellars in Shelley, Idaho

At the age of age 14 Arden left home and ventured out into the world. He traveled all over the United States doing various jobs, eventually returning to Idaho and beginning a life long career as a bartender. He was later drafted and spent two years serving in the United States Army; mostly in Alaska, where he stayed for 3 years after completing his term in the Army. While in Alaska Arden met his sweetheart Pat Barker. He followed her to California, where he convinced her to marry him in 1970. From this union two children were born, Arden and Ashley.

Arden tended bar at many establishments in Alaska, California, Idaho, and Nevada, always being the adventurer. After a fight with cancer resulted in the loss of his voice, and he and Pat moved to his childhood home of Woodville, Idaho, where he resided until his death. Arden loved spending time with his family in his backyard. In addition, he greatly enjoyed fishing on the river in Woodville. He will be missed by all of his family.

Arden is survived by his wife Pat of Woodville, son Arden of West Yellowstone, Montana, and daughter Ashley of Austin Texas, and two brothers, Rodger Sellars of Woodville, and Kenneth Sellars of Ammon. In addition Arden is survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews and three children from previous marriages, Carrie McGinnes, Jamie Ferrara, and Parri Comstock.

A celebration of Arden’s life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home.
