Dave Brewington of Firth has gone on his last trip, whether hunting, driving his red ’46 Ford around town, or meeting the guys for coffee, he was ready. He battled cancer for over two years while living with COPD.
He was born on February 17, 1946 to Harold and Leah Brewington of Firth and passed away May 8, 2026 at the home he grew up and lived for 77 years.
He graduated from Firth High School and joined the Army in October, 1965. He served for two years at the Induction Center in downtown Los Angeles, during a troubled and volatile time.
He was a laborer and was a valuable, conscientious employee. He retired from Snake River Irrigation as a ditch rider---a job he loved, where he made many friends up and down the valley visiting with people. He was an expert hunter, both bow and rifle, wood carver and friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his parents and oldest brother, Jay. He is survived by a brother, Bud, and a sister, Pam.
We will celebrate Brew at 11:00 am on May 18, 2026, with sharing memories and a light lunch at the Firth Grange Hall/City Hall in Firth. Military rites will be held at the Riverview Cemetery in Firth at 1:30 pm.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Eastern of Idaho for their kindness and care during his last days.
