Debbie Rhead

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mom and sister, Deborah “Debbie” “Deb” Rhead, on August 17, 2026.

She will be lovingly remembered by her two children: Faustino (Brittney) and Melissa (Brett), and her four grandchildren: Beaumont, Gionni, Dani, and Chanse. Of her siblings, she is survived by four brothers and three sisters: Ron (Diana), Kent (Mary Jo), Linda Rasmussen, Sandra (Kevin) Robbins, Richard (Cindy), Stephen, and Ronda Johnson. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Randy and Kevin. She will be deeply missed by her children and grandchildren, siblings, many nieces and nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Deb was born in Blackfoot, Idaho, on March 10, 1962 to Douglas and Raeola Rhead. She was their eighth child. She grew up on the family farm in Moreland, Idaho until she was six. The family moved to the Bannock Creek Idaho area and attended schools in American Falls, Idaho.

In May 1980, Debbie graduated from American Falls High School. She continued her education at Idaho State University and earned her degree in computer programming. She went on to work for the Pocatello Police Department as well as the Pocatello City office, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

In 1987, she and Joe Ruschetti moved to Butte, Montana, and were later married in May of that year. In February 1989, they welcomed their first child, a son, Faustino Rhead Ruschetti, born on February 25. Their family grew again with the birth of their daughter, Melissa Marie Ruschetti, on August 16, 1993. Joe and Debbie later divorced in 2006.

She began working at Newland & Company, an accounting firm, in 1988. Her role included computer programming, IT services, and accounting services; and she remained at the firm throughout her years in Butte. After spending nearly 30 years in Butte, she returned to Idaho to be closer to her siblings.

Debbie found joy in the simple things—a hot cup of coffee, a good book, a John Prine song, camping with loved ones, and staying connected with her kids and grandkids through countless phone calls, FaceTimes, and pictures.

Deb’s strong work ethic came from her farm-girl roots and all that came with growing up that way. She was hardworking and determined, making raising two children while working full-time look effortless. Those who knew her, knew her as gentle and kind, with a heart that cared deeply for the people she loved. At the same time, she had a fiery spirit and a headstrong nature, qualities that made her strong, independent, and unmistakably herself.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in the memories she leaves behind. May she rest peacefully, free from pain, knowing how much she was loved and will be missed.
