Diane Kay Frandsen

January 29, 1943 — February 6, 2023

Diane Kay Keck Frandsen, born January 29, 1943 in Shelley, Idaho to Philip John “Jack” Crofts and Althera Louise Lyon, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2023 in St. Anthony, Idaho of natural causes.


Diane married Douglas Ray Keck April 4, 1961 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They later divorced and she was sealed to Vearle Kay Frandsen in the Idaho Falls Temple December of 1996.


She graduated from Firth High School and attended BYU until she was married to Doug. She worked many jobs through her life. Most notably she was a wife and mother. She worked as a manager of Sears and then worked in banking as a teller for many years in Rexburg. She spent time as a money counter at the Mirage in Las Vegas. She enjoyed her years working for Deseret Book in Idaho Falls. She spent many years serving as an amazing grandma and great grandma.


Diane has been a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints her whole life. She has served in many callings throughout her life including serving a mission in the Washington Seattle Mission prior to her marriage to Vearle.

Her life revolved around her family; she loved Christmas and made sure her children and grandchildren always had a magical season.


She attended all her children dance recitals, basketball games, football games and baseball games making sure to make each one special for them! Diane was famous for her fried chicken dinners, chocolate chip cookies and homemade bread; she also loved to crochet and quilt blankets as well as take trips to Jackson Hole with family!


Anyone who knew Diane recognized her infectious smile along with calm personality; Her unshakable testimony & faith in the gospel were highlighted by her service in the Idaho Falls Temple; Her love for family will be remembered forever!


She was preceded in death by her husband Vearle Kay Frandsen, her brother Dennis Crofts and her brother Dewey Crofts.


She is survived by her children Dave (ZoAnn) Keck, Dan (Kari) Keck, Bruce (Trina) Keck, Michelle (Derrel) LeBaron and Brent (Mary Lyn) Keck, stepchildren, Gaye Frandsen and Todd (Dorothy) Frandsen along with her siblings Dean Crofts, Doreen Christensen, Doug Crofts and Delane Crofts, Denton Crofts. She also has many grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved deeply.


A funeral service will be held at the Shelley Eighth Ward Chapel, 183 N. Park Avenue, Shelley, Idaho on February 10, 2023 at 1:00 PM. A viewing for family and friends will be 11:30-12:40 at the church. Burial will be in the Basalt Cemetery under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank all those who helped with the funeral arrangements. We would also like to thank the ward particularly the relief society sisters for taking great care of our mother through her illness. Thanks to the Homestead Assisted Living ladies & Hands of Hope nurses for all their help taking care of our mother. Thanks to all our family & friends who have been by our mother’s side throughout this journey!


Diane Kay Keck Frandsen's legacy will live on through those lives she touched over this lifetime!
