Most people do not live to see the world for almost a century of change as Donna Stoker did. As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, and daughter, and disciple of Jesus Christ, she leaves a profound impact on her posterity from watching her Christ-like example for almost 96 years of life. She passed on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from our loving family here on earth to her loving family waiting for her on the other side.
Donna Hancock Beck Stoker was born January 25, 1930 to parents Ruben Hancock and Manila Favorite Taylor in Plain City, Utah. She was the youngest of the twins born that day, Don, her brother, arriving just before her. She is one of 8 siblings: Dee, Flora, Keith, Elaine, Clyde, Don, Donna and Helen. As a young child, she was separated from all of her siblings except her twin Don, whom she was inseparable with, due to the death of her father. At age 7 years of age, she was unofficially adopted by Arthur and Emma Beck in Ogden, Utah. When she was 12 years old, the family moved to Shelley, Idaho. She graduated from Shelley High School, doing quite well in school and enjoying extra curricular activities such as cheerleading. She married Don Stoker, her high school sweetheart, on August 11, 1948. She and Don had 5 children: a beloved daughter, Kristie (Ron) Tressler, and wonderful sons, Don (Sharla) Stoker, Gary (Dina) Stoker, Johnnie (Deena) Stoker, and Mark (Vicki) Stoker. Donna loved being a mother to these children as they brought her much joy and happiness. As well as being a doting mother, she worked full-time and served in her church community in many different aspects, including a Find My Sheep mission.
When Donna’s children were grown and out of the home and her husband passed away, she spent her time serving the Lord for three European missions -two in England and one in Germany. During these missions, she met many life long friends, many of whom she kept in contact with until she passed away.
Donna would never speak up about her amazing homemaking and management skills. She was an amazing cook, managed and catered weddings, and managed fair booths to help fund church budgets. She also kept an immaculate home, which was a great example to her children and grandchildren that cleanliness is next to Godliness. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren gave her much joy especially in her later days as she looked forward to their visits and phone calls. Family was everything to Donna.
