E. Loaine Leatham

Ethel Loaine Moss Leatham passed away on July 29, 2025. She was born in a small log cabin on her grandparents’ farm in Madison County on April 22, 1925, the second child of Thomas Royce Moss and Margaret Isabelle Nelson. Recently she celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by family and friends.

She graduated from Madison High School where she discovered her talent for art, a gift that she willingly shared with others. She moved to Idaho Falls and began her career with Idaho First National Bank. It was there that she was introduced to Marion Moore Leatham by a mutual friend. They were married in the Idaho Falls Temple on September 22, 1950. They made their home in Shelley where they raised their five children.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She and her husband served four missions: Ohio, Hawaii, Salt Lake City Family History Center, and the Idaho Falls Family History Center. They also served as ordinance workers in the Idaho Falls Temple.

She loved gardening and flowers. She was a beautiful seamstress. While quarantined during the COVID epidemic, she made over twenty quilts for family and friends. She quietly served others throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband Marion, both parents, five siblings, and three sons, Marlon, Neal, and Blaine. She is survived by her sister Faye, daughter Joyce (H. Lynn Beck), son Ron, six grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 West Oak Street, Shelley. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 till 7:30 p.m. and Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. till 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
