Earlene Olsen

March 15, 1948 — October 24, 2025

Earlene Hansen Olsen had a joyous reunion with family and friends, passing away on October 24, 2025 while holding the hand of her loving husband and best friend and surrounded by family.

Earlene was born March 15, 1948 to Arthur C and Leda Brady Hanen in Payson, UT. She grew up in Fountain Green, UT. Around the age of 14 her family moved to Blackfoot where she attended High School.

On September 6, 1973 she married Ray Olsen after meeting him while working at Idaho Supreme in Firth. They were inseparable and had a love that weathered many hardships and health challenges. They were later married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on April 16, 2010. They had 3 girls, Wendy, Raylene, and Jolene. Together they lived in Eastern Idaho and Wyoming but finally settled in Dubois, ID.

In Dubois Earlene found a wonderful church family where she loved to be involved and made many lifelong friends. She worked at the Senior Citizen Center and at a daycare, where love the children so much. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church and held many callings. She was a devoted person of prayer and she prayed for everyone. Her hugs were genuine, strong and healing and her eye locking “I love you” will forever be missed.

She loved fishing, rides in the mountains, singing to country music and camping with family.

Earlene had so much empathy for others and was always willing to help anyone. This is a very special trait that has been passed down to her daughters and granddaughters. Mom, thank you for teaching us what love really meant. We will miss you forever.

She is survived by her loving husband Ray Olsen of Dubois, ID; her three daughters, Wendy (Kevin) Ellis of Firth, ID, Raylene (Cory) Foster of Rigby, and Jolene Olsen of Rigby; her 3 sisters Linda Hansen of Shelley, Kathy (Timothy) Grebstad of Firth, and DiAnn (Orval) Burnside of Shelley. She had 6 Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Art and Leda Hansen.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at the Goshen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. till 12:45 p.m. at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 West Oak Street in Shelley.
