Elizabeth B. Coulson

February 13, 1952 — July 18, 2022

Elizabeth Coulson of Idaho Falls, Idaho passed away Monday, July 18, 2022.

Liz was born February 13, 1952 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was raised in Iona and surrounding areas by her parents, John and Margaret Burke. Liz had fond memories of many camping trips with her sisters Nadine and Jeannie when they were young. Later she became a big sister to Michael, Michelle, Ralland, Felecia and Johna. All of the younger siblings remember fun times with Liz and some of them remember very fondly of scaring her with water snakes.

Liz first married Ken Trimble in her later teen years. After this marriage, she met and married Clinton “Ace” Coulson who was the love of her life. From her marriages she had four children; Christina, Theresa, Clinton and Cynthia. Theresa passed away soon after being born, Liz forever carried the Mother’s love and sorrow in her heart for her daughter.

Liz was a homemaker a majority of her life. She and Ace’s life saw them traveling to various places in Southeast Idaho and throughout Oregon. She enjoyed crocheting, reading books, social media, painting and coffee. She loved to have family come visit. There was always plenty of coffee to be had and stories to be shared. She enjoyed sharing advice and her life experiences with others.

The greatest joys in Liz’s life were her grandchildren; Andrea, Casey, Billy, Dakota, Tara Z, Valkyrie and Tasha (born silently) and great-grandchildren; Daxton, Callie and Asher. She loved being with, and able to be, a part in raising her babies.
She loved to be surrounded by those who cared for her. Cynthia was her right hand throughout the years and Andrea being the oldest grandchild was right there anytime Grandma had a need. She counted on Valkyrie to handle what he could and built a special bond with Billy through all of his years. She was always an open door to all of her grandchildren and was only a phone call or a Facebook message away. She wanted to show her children and grandchildren that she lived to love and protect them from any and all harm. Liz had a good heart and she will be missed deeply by those that had her love and protection throughout their years.

Elizabeth is survived by her siblings: Jeannie, Michael, Michelle, Felecia and Johna; her children: Christina, Clinton and Cynthia; grandchildren: Andrea, Casey, Billy, Dakota, Tara Z and Valkyrie; and great-grandchildren: Daxton, Callie and Asher.

She is preceded in death by her parents: John and Margaret Burke; husband: Ace Coulson; siblings: Nadine and Ralland; her daughter Theresa and her granddaughter Tasha.

The family would like to acknowledge all of the home health staff who provided care to Liz over the years. The genuine friendships she built with many of her aides were invaluable to her.

There will be a viewing at Nalder Funeral Home (110 W Oak St, Shelley, Idaho 83274) Saturday, July 23rd from 10 am to 11:30 am. A potluck luncheon will follow at the residence of her sister, Felecia.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation directly to Nalder Funeral Home to assist the family with Liz’s services.
