Emma Harter

Emma Elaine Harter, 60, passed away peacefully at her home in Shelley, Idaho on the evening of March 2, 2024.

Emma Elaine Harter was born on February 1, 1964 in West Virginia to Maude & William Harter. After her father retired from his military service, her family moved to Battle Mountain, Nevada. 

Emma graduated from Battle Mountain High School in 1982 . In 2009 she became a Licensed Massage Therapist after attending an LMT program in Salt Lake City, Utah. Over the course of her adult life she enjoyed working as a bartender, call center support specialist, and kennel worker. 

Emma led a passionate free-spirited lifestyle. She enjoyed helping animals, traveling, hanging out with family and friends, camping, and any opportunity to experience the great outdoors. 

Emma's proudest achievements were the births of her children and watching them become parents.

Emma is preceded in death by her mother, Maude Alberta Phillips, and her father, William Oscar Harter.

Emma is survived by her three children, Bonnie (Gerry) Crawford of Texas, Ben (Melissa) Peterson of Wyoming, and Mace (Amie) Kilpatrick of Nevada; 12 grandchildren, Chris, Desi, Morgan, Alyssa, Chaz, Dane, Damian, Nathan, Kanden, Emma, Emberly, & Sadie Faye; six great-grandchildren; one sister Ada (James) McClure; two nephews, Teddy and Christopher; and two nieces, Carlene and Denise; and many extended family and friends.

Condolences may be made directly to the family. However, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your local animal rescue group.

A memorial celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
