J. Lynn Clapp

Jerrod Lynn Clapp, 89, of Shelley passed away May 4, 2024.

Lynn was born March 2, 1935 in Idaho Falls to David Eugene and Cleah Lucille Lindsey Clapp.

On August 15, 1962 he married Billie Jo Speas in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Lynn was a member of the Idaho National Guard and Army Reserves. He attended the College of Idaho and Brigham Young University.

He was employed for many different drafting firms.  He worked at the INEL as a draftsman and engineer retiring in May of 1999.

Lynn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served a full-time mission in the Gulf States from 1957-1959.

He enjoyed oil painting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, carpentry, and mechanics. He was a member of the Bonneville Art Association.

Lynn is survived by his wife, Billie Clapp of Shelley; two sons, Darrold (Julie) Clapp of Blackfoot and Jared Wade Clapp of Salt Lake City, Utah; two daughters, Wendee Lynn of Seattle, Washington and Victoria (Chad) Minteer of Jacksonville, Florida; one brother, Ted Clapp of Salt Lake City, Utah, 17 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Joseph Charles Clapp, brothers: Bill Clapp, Ray Clapp, Frank Clapp, and a grandson, Aaron David Clapp

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 10, 2024 at the Taylor First Ward Chapel (1101 E 1250 N) in Shelley. The family will meet with friends Friday morning from 9:30 till 10:45 A.M. at the church.  Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home.
