Janice Eileen Hurt, 78, of Shelley, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Teton Healthcare of Cascadia.
She was born April 2, 1945, along with twin sister, Janet, in Bronson, Kan., to Roy and Geneva Miller Russell. She spent most of her younger years in Coffeyville, Kan., and moved to Idaho in 1953. She attended schools in Shelley.
She worked for RT French Co., Pillsbury and Basic American Foods, and retired after 33 years.
Janice enjoyed reading on her Kindle, playing games on her phone, gardening, and enjoying time with family. She spent many hours playing card games and dominoes with friends and family. In her younger years she spent time taking her granddaughters on long day drives and sightseeing.
Janice is survived by one son; Jason Hurt; three granddaughters, Sydni (Coltin) Hurley, Nicole Hurt, & Melissa Latimer; and 4 great grandchildren. One brother, Robert (Lynnette) Russell; sister, Shirley (Joe) Simpson; along with nieces and a nephew. As well as many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents along with her twin sister Janet Russell.
Inurnment will be in Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery where she will be placed with those that preceded her in death.
Graveside service will be held Friday May 17, 2024 at 2 P.M. at Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery for friends and family.
