Juanita Wright was born to Rosezilla and Alford Crandall on June 28, 1934 in Centerville, Utah. At three years old, her bio mother, Rosezilla, passed away. Juanita was raised from then on by her aunt and uncle, Olive and Louis Crandall, who she called mom and dad.
Juanita graduated high school in Idaho Falls in 1952. She married her high school sweet heart, Robert E. Wright, on August 27, 1954, where they then moved to his first U.S. Air Force base station in Illinois. While stationed there, Juanita, gave birth to their first child, Debra E. Wright, in 1955. They were then stationed in Japan, where they had their second child, Richard A Wright, in 1957. Two years later, they were stationed in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where they had their third child, Ronald E. Wright, in 1959. In 1963, while living in Las Vegas, Nevada, Juanita gave birth to their last child, Monica A. Wright.
Throughout her lifetime, Juanita experienced many different job opportunities, ranging from a car hop to a licensed vocational nurse. Some of her job experiences included: driving a snow con truck, a PBX operator, the Reid Brother’s Circus, a chip girl, and a checker. Juanita and Robert owned and operated F. Devil’s Bar and Sport Shop while living in Riggins, Idaho, where she achieved getting her advanced EMT license. She worked as a nurse in Sacramento (Where she joined the sheriff reserve department), Grangeville, Orofino, and Genessee. While in Orofino, she worked at the Idaho State Prison, where she “jumped the fence” to nursing at the alcohol treatment rehabilitation center.
Juanita was the sweetest, kindest, gentlest person you would ever know. Her infectious laugh and loving compassion could make the heaviest of hearts grow lighter. As a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, her faith was infinite and unwavering, followed closely by her passionate love for chocolate and Pepsi. She loved to garden as well as knit, and she cared for and endlessly spoiled many beloved pets throughout her lifetime.
She was a safe place in a storm, a rainbow after a hurricane, a star in a bleak sky. She gave help to all who needed it. She never judged and never swayed in her faith and love.
Juanita was preceded in death by her adopted brother, Al Crandall, her husband of 42 years and only love Robert Wright, and one great grandchild.
She is survived by her four children, 20 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren.
