Our loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Karma Reed Brinkman passed away Friday, August 9, 2013 from Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
Karma was born July 20, 1928 in Antelope, Idaho to William and Esther Reed. She was the third of six children. Karma attended school in Ririe, Idaho. She attended Ricks College and Brigham Young University where she receive her teaching certificate. Karma was teaching school in Shelley, Idaho when she met Raymond F. Brinkman. They were married on December 30, 1952 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Four children were born to their family.
Karma love teaching and taught 34 years in Shelley. She loved planting flowers and working in her gardens, she was known for her beautiful yards. She enjoyed visits with her children, grandchildren, nephews and nieces and their children. Shopping, reading, photography, and time in nature were some of her favorite hobbies. She traveled with friends around the world from Antarctica to Europe to China.
Karma was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, her sons Curtis and Greg, her parents, two brothers, and one sister.
She is survived by her daughters, Katherine (Rogers) Smith from Mesa, Az, and Ellen (Craig) Garrett from Fallbrook, Ca, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a sister, Laurell Croft, and brother, Jerry Reed.
Her funeral will be held at the Ammon 23
Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Building on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 11:00 am, located at 4030 John Adams PKWY, Ammon, ID. Viewing will be at 10:00 till 10:45 am at the church. Graveside will be at the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery at 2:00 pm. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley.
