Kenneth Theodore Bridges

b. November 8, 1953

Kenneth Theodore (Ted) Bridges, passed away at his home in Firth, Idaho, from natural causes.

Ted was the first-born child to Kenneth M. and Effie Delores White Bridges on January 18, 1953, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They lived in Idaho Falls several years adding three more children to the family, Melda, Kathy & Terry. During the summer of 1964 the family moved to Shelley, Idaho where he attended Shelley schools graduating from Shelley High School in 1972.

In September of 1972 Ted joined the U.S. Navy, beginning his life career where he traveled the world either by ship or being stationed on a military base in far off countries. He and a friend figured it out where he traveled enough; he went around the world 3 and a half times. He took pride in the many awards, and letters of accommodation he received, being a well decorated Veteran retiring after 20 years of serving our country.

Upon returning home from his military service Ted worked at Cal Stores in Idaho Falls, in the distribution department for several years. He then enjoyed retirement doing the things he loved to do, fishing, hunting, traveling to rodeos with his brother, spending time with his family and being a hermit in his home away from people.

Several years ago, Ted was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a cancer of the blood. He fought through this disease long and hard, having it go into remission; it was a cancer he would always have and never be healed.

Ted was preceded in death by both of his parents, his brother, Terry, and Brother’s-in-law, David Pack, Joe Jorgensen, and John Feldott.

Ted is survived by his sisters, Melda Feldott of Shelley, Idaho and Kathy Pack Hemmert (Malone) of St. Charles, Idaho, sister-in-law, Jeannene Bridges of Rigby, Idaho along with 19 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of life and Military honors will be held at a later date.
