Mae Dee Brinkerhoff

Apr 12, 1961 — Sep 3, 2026

Mae Dee Christensen Brinkerhoff, 65, passed away peacefully at her home in Idaho Falls on September 3, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Soda Springs, Idaho, in April 1961, Mae Dee was raised in Enoch Valley on the family ranch in Henry, Idaho—a place that forever held her heart. She attended school in Soda Springs before attending Brigham Young University in Utah, where she earned a degree in Textiles.

On a cold December day in 1984, Mae Dee was sealed to her loving husband, Garth Brinkerhoff, in the Logan Utah Temple. Together, they made their life primarily in Idaho Falls, while enjoying adventures wherever Garth’s career choices took them throughout the western states.

Mae Dee had a deep love for the outdoors, especially the mountains. In the winter, she found peace snowmobiling with her family, a pastime that brought her great comfort and fondly reminded her of her father and her childhood home. During the warmer months, her passion was her yard; her beautiful gardens and flower beds were her pride and joy. She held a special place in her heart for all of her animals, affectionately caring for them even when occasionally teasing about the endless mouths she had to feed.

A talented seamstress, Mae Dee poured her love into every stitch, making clothing and blankets that will be treasured forever by her children and grandchildren. Above all, Mae Dee was defined by her selfless heart. She lived a life of quiet, continuous service, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Garth Brinkerhoff; her children, Joel (Rebekah), Shandon (Beth), and Tanner (Taylee); her beloved grandchildren, Kylee, Maddie, Emmy, Reid, Theo, Renlee, Beckham, and Karter; her brother, Frank (Heidi) Christensen; and her sisters, Tara (Jeff) Allen and Brittany (Jeremiah) Grell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vann Christensen and Connie Bassett Christensen.

Private family services will be held to honor Mae Dee’s life and legacy.

Arrangements are under the care of Nalder Funeral Home.
