Marjorie Jean Walton Tschikof Harris, 79, of Idaho Falls was welcomed into the loving arms of her two sons, Jeff and Ricky, her three husbands, Dick Tschikof, Wayne Madsen, and Don Harris and her parents, Leo and LaRue Humphreys Walton on July 10, 2025.
Margie, as she was called by friends, was born September 29, 1945 in Pocatello, Idaho. She was the youngest of four kids. She grew up in Moreland, Idah and Firth, graduating from Firth High School. She attended Eastern Idaho Vo-Tech obtaining an associate degree in Accounting.
She married Dick Tschikof in 1964 in Las Vegas, Nevada because his brother, Bert, said he’d drive them there. They had two sons, Ricky and Jeff. Dick was a great father. He died of cancer in 1983.
Margie was living in Idah Falls and reconnected with an old flame, Wayne Madsen, and they were married in 1985. They moved to Wayne’s farm in Goshen. Many happy times were spent there. The boys learned hard work and how to hunt, fish, and above all, to be honest. Wayne was very honest and his word was his bond. He took those two boys and loved and raised them as his own.
Ricky joined the U.S. Army right after high school and went to Germany. After his tour was over, he came home and one of many heartaches for Margie occurred. Her beloved son, Ricky, passed away in February 1993. The family was heartbroken.
Jeff also entered the U.S. Army and served in Germany.
Margie helped on the farm. She then worked at EIRMC as a computer operator. She worked there for 15 years. While working at EIRMC Wayne was diagnosed with cancer and sadly passed away in June 2006.
After Wayne’s death, while surfing the dating sites, Margie meet Don Harris who was a retired school teacher from Skyline High School. They were married in April 2008. It was decided to sell the farm and move to Idaho Falls. They built a new home in Ammon. Margie gained five step kids through this marriage. Don and Margie enjoyed singing in the church and community choirs. They did indexing and genealogy. On Wednesdays and Fridays, they went to the Senior Center to play cards, which they enjoyed. Don gave Margie his college education and Margie gave him a barn yard education. They also wee blessed to be workers at the Idaho Falls temple for two years.
Another blow came to the family the week after Thanksgiving in 2008 when her son, Jeff, passed away.
She will be missed by extended family and her five grand-kids, Canon, Kaeli, Kenadi, Carson, Jaden and two great grand-kids Blaikley & Bentley.
Margie was a strong, independent woman who loved her family and her Heavenly Father. She not only survived her trails but was greatly refined.
