Owen Lorenzo Brunson, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 28, 2020 in his home surrounded by his family. He was under the care of Encompass Hospice and his loving wife Inge Brunson.
Owen was born in Blackfoot, June 14, 1933, to Clarence Otto and Ruth Louise Brunson. He was the 3rd of five children. Owen had a simple childhood and spent his summers with his best friend and brother Dickey. He attended school and graduated from Blackfoot High school in 1952. He continued on to get vocational schooling from Idaho State College and Ricks College. He became a skilled welder and pump mechanic.
Owen was inducted into the United States Army on August 11th, 1954. He served overseas where he met and married Ingeborg Seiler, May 3, 1956, in Heidelberg, Germany.
Owen and Inge came to the United States and settled in Blackfoot where they started their family. Later, they built a home on the outskirts of Idaho Falls to raise their seven children in.
Owen worked various jobs as a Millwright and eventually retired from Pillsbury in Shelley. He loved to fish, hunt, camp, and enjoy the great outdoors. He taught his boys and girls to shoot and cast a fishing pole. He was a patient, kind, and fun-loving guy, always making friends and discussing the latest fishing news with fellow anglers.
Owen is survived by his wife Inge; children Mark (Kelly) Brunson, Tracy (Carrie) Brunson, Ingrid (Perry) Colton, Evan (Linda) Brunson, Michelle (Lincoln) Beard, Tanya (Shaun) Messick, Danita (David) Hinton, sister; Winona Crumb and brother; Melvin Richard (Millie) Brunson. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother; Alvin Brunson and sister; Donna Renould.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 6:00 till 7:30 PM at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak Street) in Shelley. There will be a family funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 3, 2020 at the Woodville Second Ward Chapel (1555 North 700 East) in Shelley. Burial will be at the Grove City Cemetery with Military Rites.
