Pamela Jean Carlson

July 20, 1940 — January 17, 2026

Pamela Jean Carlson (Pam) was born July 20, 1940 in Salida, Colorado to Louis and Winona Longpre’. In 1940, Louis was stationed with the U.S. Navy in Hawaii and was accompanied there by Winona and baby Pam. After his tour was done, they moved to the San Francisco Bay Area. Pam attended school there and graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in 1958.

In July 1959 Pam married Edwin Peters, Jr. In 1960 they welcomed their first daughter Kimberly, and in 1962 they welcomed their second daughter Susan. In February 1970 they all moved to Soda Springs, Idaho. Pam and Ed moved to Wyoming in the mid 1980’s and later divorced. Pam worked several jobs in Idaho and Wyoming, which she enjoyed and excelled at.

Pam married Dan Carlson in September 1996. After they retired, they became snowbirds and had many wonderful adventures together in Mexico and Arizona. They were together until Dan’s passing in December 2021.

In January 2022 Pam moved back to Idaho to be closer to her daughters again. She passed peacefully at The Gables Memory Care facility in Shelley, Idaho on January 17, 2026.

Pam is survived by her brother Richard (Janet) Price, daughters Kimberly (Don) Glenn and Susan Caudill, step-daughters Tammie (Tom) Wilson, Dana Sykes and Debbie (Chuck) Radosevich, two nieces, six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Longpre and LeRoy and Nona Price; her husband, Dan Carlson; and two granddaughters, Christy Sykes and Sarah Zacharias.

Pam’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at The Gables Memory Care in Shelley, as well as Mission Health and Hospice of Idaho Falls, for the love and care they gave Pam during her time there.

Honoring Pam’s request, there will not be a service.

If you would like to honor Pam’s memory, please consider making a donation to your favorite animal shelter in her name.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley, Idaho.
