Patsy Ann Cowley

October 29, 1962 — July 23, 2023

Shelley

Patsy Ann Cowley was born October 29, 1962 in Kanab, Utah.  She was the fourth of six children born to  Julian and Doree “Sally” Cowley. She was loved dearly by her family. Her mother and father taught her many things to make sure she had all of the tools needed to live a full and wonderful life.

To know Patsy, was to know she loved life.  She enjoyed going to several different Developmental Disability Agencies, where she learned life skills and made many good friends. Every Monday, she attended SNAP, a program through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She loved going on trips, enjoyed every holiday, and looked forward to celebrating her birthday every year.  She loved pizza, hamburgers, and her Mountain Dew.

Patsy accomplished much in her life. She competed in the Special Olympics, ran “Dash for Down Syndrome” race, earned her young women's medallion from the LDS church, and worked at the developmental workshop. Patsy also knew sign language and would sign songs for talent shows. She was an avid colorer, puzzler, card player, Utah Jazz fan, and loved watching her favorite T.V. show Little House on the Prairie.

It was hard to know Patsy, and not learn from her. She taught others joy, humbleness, determination, cleverness, and most importantly love. Patsy will be incredibly missed, but never forgotten by those who loved her.

After the passing of her mother, Patsy moved in with John and Pat Crowley where she lived for several years.  After Julian and Deanna married,  they welcomed Patsy back into their home.  She also spent time with Sherry Waters and family. Patsy lived her last fourteen years with her brother John, his wife Diana and family.  The past two and half months, she stayed at New Beginnings where she was taken great care of. A special thanks to everyone for their loving care of our dear Patsy.

She was preceded in death by her mother Sally Bell Cowley, step mother Deanna Walters Cowley, sister April Cowley, grandparents, Dr. Royal and Pearl Bell, Charles and Leah Cowley.

Niece Shasta Cowley and nephew Spence Cowley.

Survivors include her father Julian Cowley of Idaho Falls, brothers Dirk (Wendy) Cowley of Salt Lake City, Utah, John (Diana) Cowley of Shelley, Idaho, Mark (Lisa) Cowley of Shelley, Idaho, Andrew (Kelly) of Minnetrista, Minnesota.  Many nieces and nephews.
