Richard Allen Wagner

January 26, 1958 — March 2, 2026

Richard “Rick” Allen Wagner, 68, passed away unexpectedly on March 2nd, 2026. Rick was born January 26, 1958 to Fredrick “Fritz” Wagner and Jane (Suchomel) Wagner in Madison, WI. He was a 1976 graduate of Monona Grove High School in Monona Grove, WI.

He married Michelle Shupe on April 4th, 2002 on a tropical island in Jamaica. They made their home in Shelley, Idaho on the beautiful Snake River where Rick could fish from his back yard any time he wanted.

Throughout his life Rick would say that he had done everything “from shoveling shit to selling diamonds.” However, he spent the last 27 years working at the Anheuser Busch Malt Plant in Idaho Falls, ID where he retired from in 2017.

Rick was a man who could fix anything from rebuilding a car engine to hemming his daughters pants; he could figure it out.

Some of his hobbies included tinkering on cars or anything with an engine. Some other activities that he enjoyed were fishing, camping, and traveling to anywhere that was warm and spending time with his family and friends.

Rick will be deeply missed by his wife Michelle; his daughters Michelle (Jeff) Allen of Manitowoc, WI; Allisen Duncan and granddaughters Scarlett and Vivian Duncan all of Manitowoc, WI; stepdaughters JoDee Crain, Crystal Nelson and Misty Cook; step-grandchildren Kyra (Robert) Mumme, Austin Crain, Ethan Jones, Keegan, Jayden and Brynlee Cook, Lena, Lila and Zane Miller; and one great-granddaughter Kendyll Mumme.

Rick is further survived by his brothers John (Nancy) Wagner of Greenleaf, WI, Robert (Debra) Wagner of Fredonia, WI; sisters Laurie (Jay) Rumpf of Rochester, WI and Lynn (Kelly) Wildes of Minocqua, WI; along with countless nieces, nephews, great-nieces and a great-nephew.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place at Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley, ID.

A celebration of Rick’s life will take place at a later date.
