Robert George Whiting

Robert George Whiting, 81, of Shelley, Idaho. Passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 27, 2024.

Robert was born to Delilah and Carl Whiting and raised in the city of Idaho Falls. Robert was the 4th of 5 children. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School. Later meeting the love of his life Colleen Sellers. They were married on February 19, 1970. They settled down in the town of Shelley Idaho. Where they raised three wonderful children. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and he was diligent in his church callings. A loyal and hardworking man. He worked for Farrs Candy Company for over 53 years, and hardly missed a day of work.

Robert was a devoted husband and father. He will be reunited with his sweet wife Colleen and is survived by their three children, Michele (Kevin) Lott, Scott Robert Whiting, and Nicole Lynn Whiting. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He never forgot their birthdays, and he always made sure to let them know how loved they were especially on Valentine’s Day with a heart box of chocolates. 

Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He loved sports, and he enjoyed watching basketball and football games with his son Scott.  His honest and loyal nature touched the lives of many, and his legacy will live on through his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 2, 2024 at the Shelley South Stake Center, 675 S Milton. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 till 7:30 P.M at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 West Oak Street, in Shelley and Friday from 1:00 till 1:45 P.M. at the church. Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
