Our beloved and gentle son and brother, Todd L. Christensen, passed away at the age of 57 at EIRMC on April 11, 2022.
Todd was born on June 19, 1964 to Winn LaMarr Christensen and Ina Claire Theobald who lived in Shelley, Idaho. He spent his entire young life in Shelley, as his parents’ youngest of six children. Todd was happy and talented throughout his life. He was very musically talented and loved singing and playing the piano. Todd spent many, many hours on the farm with his Dad working the fields and managing the sprinklers.
In high school he was in the Shellaires for three years. Mr. Stirland was his mentor. When he eventually was accepted to BYU he was a BYU Cheerleader. He graduated with his Masters degree in Accounting and Information Systems Consulting. He served a mission to California.
After graduation, Todd moved to work in Washington, DC. He became a creative and innovative IT professional, helping organizations utilize technology effectively. Over his 22-year career, he worked for several companies, including Accenture, National \Human Services Assembly and National Legal Aid & Defender Association. By the end of his career, he had acquired excellent problem-solving abilities and expertise in the areas of technology management, technology strategy, business process design, web development, and video production.
He was part of a country dance group that traveled all over the country. He also traveled many places around the world. While living in Virginia he met his most beloved dog Capri, who was his faithful friend.
In 2013 he moved to Arizona to live by his sister, Rhonda. He lived there for four years until he moved to his beloved Idaho to live on the farm in his grandfather’s house by Mom and Dad.
He was excellent at videography and interviewed many family members. These are cherished memories and our parents and other ancestors. He was an excellent photographer.
Todd was compassionate and a caregiver. Despite facing his own health challenges, Todd spent the last years of his life caring for his mother and father. He took mom and dad to numerous appointments, shopping for groceries, and going to lunch. Every Saturday morning, they would go to breakfast and go to the mall for a soda.
He is survived by his father, Winn Lamar Christensen, siblings, Rhonda (Craig) Hobbs, Larry Christensen, Liz Christensen, Linda (Steve) Laney, Kathy (Greg) Nalder.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ina Claire Christensen and sister, Cherie Searle.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 West Oak Street in Shelley. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 till 12:45 PM. at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Shelley cemetery immediately following.
