Tracy Lee Landon

Tracy Lee Landon peacefully passed away on 12 February 2022 from multiple health issues at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Tracy was born on 19 May 1954, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was the first of four children born to Leo B. Landon and Karen B. Bradley.

He attended school in Shelley and graduated from Shelley High School in 1973. He was involved in Basketball, Wrestling, Track and Football in his high school years. He was especially good on the grid iron. Playing on the offensive and defensive line and was offered a football scholarship to play for the Midshipmen at the Annapolis Naval Academy. He turned down the scholarship and upon graduation from high school enlisted in the United States Army. After his basic training at Fort Ord, California, he was stationed at Fort Lewis in Washington.

It was during this time in Washington that he met Coleen Roe. After a brief courtship, they were married in May 1975. To this union came four children, Tommy, Lewellen, Leo and Travis Landon. Tracy and Coleen later separated. He met Laurie Johnson in his later years and they were companions for the rest of Tracy’s life.

He attended Idaho State University trade school and graduated with a degree in appliance repair. While he did not pursue that avenue of employment, he reverted to his training in the construction field.

Tracy’s profession in life was that of a carpenter. He worked on several construction projects during his life time up and down the Snake River valley, in California and Washington.

Tracy had a happy go lucky approach to life and never seemed to get too upset at any of life’s challenges. He enjoyed riding his bicycle, twisting a wrench on an old vehicle, rummaging through a gravel pit in search of a new favorite rock, listening to old goldie music with “Crystal Blue Persuasion” being his favorite song, spending as much time as he could in the out of doors or building something with his hands.

He is survived by his children, Tommy (Maria), Lewellen, Leo and Travis (Lara) Landon. His siblings, Kevin B. (Inis) Landon, Shelley, Id, Michelle Simmons, Bremerton, Wa, Chris (Jill) Landon, Idaho Falls, Id, mother Karen B. (John) Little, Kennewick, Wa, step-mother Cosette Landon, siblings Carrie (Robert) Murphy, Blackfoot, Id, Tina (Calvin) Hunter, Idaho Falls, Id, siblings, Kim Cunningham, Wa, Courtney and Dana Little, Wa, life companion, Laurie Johnson, Idaho Falls, Id. Many nieces and nephews. He had six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Alexis, Olivia, Cathrine, Hailey, Tristan, Amberlynn, Braxton and Jade.

He was proceeded in death by his father Leo B. Landon, and his grandparents on both sides of the family.

Memorial services will be held Thursday September 1, 2022 at Nalder Funeral Home 110 West Oak in Shelley, Interment will be at 12:00 Noon at Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery with Military Rites.
