Wayne Brower Womack, 65, of Shelley, passed away peacefully August 8th, 2018 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center due to complications from cancer. He was surrounded by his loving wife and children.
Wayne was born October 8th, 1952 in Ashton, Idaho to Royal and Lucile Womack and was the youngest of 6 kids. His family moved to Garland, Utah when he was young. He played the tuba and wrestled for Bear River High School, from where he graduated in 1970.
He met the love of his life, Karen, in Boise in 1977. They were married September 12th, 1980 in Island Park, Idaho. They lived in several places before settling down in Shelley in 1988.
His first job was as a newspaper delivery boy in Garland. He showed his amazing work ethic at an early age and took this job very seriously. He was a perfectionist and had to make sure every paper was delivered just right.
He worked at several jobs throughout the years: as a meat cutter, in construction, and at Home Depot for the last several years, where everyone loved him. He genuinely cared about everyone he met and was always happy and willing to help wherever he was needed, whether it was at work or in his personal life. He was always there to save the day when his kids needed him and was always teaching them along the way.
He loved the outdoors. He took great care of his yard and his garden, and was always so proud of his landscaping. His favorite thing was camping with his family. He loved to tease, and make people laugh, and always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye.
He loved his family so much, but more than anything, he loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife Karen Womack, of Shelley, Idaho; his children, Tami (Kurt) Painter, of Mesa, AZ; Michael (Andrea) Womack of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Heather (Phillip) Campbell, of Ucon, Idaho; Amber (Collin) Madsen of Twin Falls, Idaho; Cody (Maren) Womack of Idaho Falls, Idaho; siblings, Dennis Womack of Apple Valley Utah; Brent (Rose Ann) Womack of Nibley, Utah; Gail (Christina) Womack of St. Anthony, Idaho; Linda (Lee) McDonald of North Ogden, Utah; Keith (Merla) Womack, of Malad, Idaho, and 7 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by both parents, and his son Joshua.
Wayne’s family would like to thank the excellent staff at EIRMC for their love and compassion in his final days.
