Wendy Christensen

October 24, 1957 — December 18, 2025

Wendy A. Christensen, 68, of Goshen, Idaho passed away with her loving husband at her side after a short hospital stay. Her life was full of love, sharing, awareness of others, and standing up for the people she cared for.

Wendy was born in Ogden, Utah to Glenn Eldon and Elaine Beckstead Anderson on October 24, 1957. She was the fifth of six children. She grew up in Pleasant View, Utah where she graduated from North Ogden Junior High and Weber High School. She played the violin and had a great love of music.

After high school, she worked a variety of jobs and served a mission in Japan for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her love of children led her to earning her Bachelor’s degree from Weber State University and becoming an elementary school teacher. She was a wonderful teacher, and the students loved her. Later in life, she was fortunate enough to find Steve, and they were married in the Idaho Falls Temple which led to 21 years of learning, growing, love, and happiness. Wendy believed in following Christ’s example of loving and serving others and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Wendy was a protector, giver, and a champion of the underdog. There are too many memories to share of how she helped others. She was definitely the favorite aunt! She often watched kids for family members to have date nights. She watched movies and covered the children's eyes when there were scary images. Special outings included games at BYU and Disney on Ice. There were always games and fun snacks when Wendy was nearby. She was a go-to for good recipes, including her coveted caramel sauce. She was always looking to share any great deals she found with whomever might be interested.

Wendy loved family and attending family gatherings. She had a playful sense of humor. She was a sincere and authentic person. You could talk to her about anything. As the children grew older, they appreciated long conversations and her goofy sense of humor. She was there to support her sisters and brother when needed. She even moved home to assist her dad in writing his life story before he passed. She loved spending time with family at the cabin that her father and relatives built and watching the wildlife.

Wendy is survived by her husband of 21 years, Steve Christensen, Goshen, Idaho; her sisters, Laura Lee Woolsey, Garland, Utah; Valorie Stander, Bear River City, Utah; Sydnie Larsen, Centerville, Utah; Christy Blair, Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and her nieces and nephews who will never forget the time she spent loving and taking care of them.

Wendy has been lovingly reunited with those who preceded her in death including her parents, Glenn and Elaine Anderson, and her grandparents, Verl and Rosa Nellie Rindlisbacher Anderson and Hesy and Adelia Quayle Beckstead, and her brother Eldon Anderson.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to EIRMC ICU doctors, nurses, and staff for the loving care given.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2025 at the Presto Ward Chapel (792 N 1090 E). The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 till 7:30 p.m. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. till 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery.

Wendy’s extreme generosity, loving heart, and playful nature led to many lifelong friendships. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
